Bubbly Lobster-licious Dinner in the Sky
The Bollinger Special Cuvee NV is a special multi-vintage blend of Grands and Premier Crus grapes, famed as the signature Champagne under the label of James Bond 007. A fine companion to seafood, the pairing couldn’t be more perfect with succulent and huge lobster, for a dining experience in the sky. Yes, our dinner was held at Cristallo di Luna, the newly revamped non smoking zone which has been converted into a cosy dining venue at the top floor of Pacific Regency Hotel Suites. Entering the restaurant gave me a sense of awe for the floor to ceiling glass walls were donned with the amazing KL skyline especially during the night.

Cristallo also means clear glass that looks like crystal, thereby setting the theme of the restaurant with crystals dangling from the ceiling to give it a very sparkly and elegant look.

KL Tower view from Cristallo
I reached Cristallo in the evening just when the sun was setting, giving the sky a light orange hue behind the magnificent KL Tower. It was a splendid backdrop.

Dining table
The theme of the night was James Bond, with the starter named as “Tomorrow Never Dies“, a Chef’s Salad.

Menu of the night

Warm toasted bread
The Chef’s Salad was made from mescullin leaves tossed with beef, chicken and turkey ham then drizzled with tangy lemon vinaigrette. The zesty dressing gave this salad a moreish appeal that stimulated our palate for the next dishes.

Of course, dinner would not have been complete without the signature Champagne, Bollinger Special Cuvee, which was served to all diners all night long. The wine had a golden hue with very fine bubbles that gave my palate a fruity and velvety finish. It was exceptionally smooth and delicate without being bitter. Loved it!

Dinner continued with “Quantum of Solace“, which was Prawn Bisque made from tomato puree simmered with prawns, basil, fennel and a generous splash of cognac and cream. This was very smooth and creamy, with a distinct aroma and sweetness from the prawns that was nicely balanced by the tomato puree.

Now, the star of the night was, without a doubt, Lobsters. We were served lobsters cooked in two ways, the first being Stir Fried Lobster with Thai Basil and the second was Lobster Thermidor.

Raw Lobster
I have to say that I fell in love with the Stir Fried Lobster with Thai Basil! The lobster was huge and fresh, with succulent and sweet meat. The Thai basil sauce was fragrant, slightly spicy and oh-so-flavourful. I almost wished I could have the whole lobster to myself!

The Lobster Thermidor was prepared by carefully removing the flesh from the shell, which was then sauteed and gratinated with cheese and bechamel sauce on top. It was baked to perfection, with a golden brown finish and a cheesy and creamy interior. It was all a girl could do to refrain from biting into the whole lobster. Delicious!

After the lobster dishes, we were served with a main course platter which had Angus New York Striploin, Grilled New Zealand Lamb Rack marinated in Dijon Mustard and Provence Herbs and Grilled Garoupa with zesty lemon butter sauce. To be completely honest, this main course dish paled in comparison to the lobster dishes we had earlier. Give me more lobster anytime.

Main Course platter
To end the dinner on a sweet note, we had Peach Melba, which was a combination of vanilla ice-cream with summer peaches topped with strawberry sauce. I have to say that this was quite a marvel – the blend of sweet peaches and slightly sour taste from the sauce was the perfect accompaniment to the otherwise boring vanilla ice-cream. The ending couldn’t have been sweeter.

Peach Melba
The Lobster-licious promotion runs from now until 30th of June 2011 and is available for lunch and dinner at RM128++ for one whole lobster, made to perfection to your liking. And if you’re looking to experience the smooth and fruity Bollinger champagne, it is sold at RM250++ during Happy Hours daily from 5 to 9pm.

Comfortable couches by the window
After dinner, if the night is still young, just head out next door to Luna Chill Out Bar, the roof top bar with a gorgeous pool and an amazing view to boot.

hmm.. too bad about the steak that came after the lobster. I like my lobster with loads of garlic.. thermidor is fine but it’s too heavy going after a while, and actually kills the taste of the lobster.. that’s if it was fresh in the 1st place – otherwise it’s a great mask LOL;)

You’re right.. anything with cheese would have their natural taste masked off. The key is, the right balance! Hehe.. anyway I still would go for the Thai basil over thermidor anytime!
Wow the place looks amazing – love the crystal lights!
They’re lovely, aren’t they?
Lovely place to dine

Bet it costs a bomb. Looks great…but I prefer prawns – giant tiger prawns or freshwater prawns. Sweeter and tastier.

It’s quite reasonably priced, considering it’s a whole lobster in a gorgeous dining environment
Hi, dropping-in for the 1st time.

That bisque makes me hunrgy. I love bisque so much in here. There is one near my job it’s about 10.00 usd. I wonder how much it cost in Mayla
I think it costs maybe about RM20-30 here, depending on where you order it from. But it’s so GOOD right? Thick and creamy <3
Bond-movie themes for the dishes? Gnarly, baby! (Oops, wrong film reference, that one! Hahaha…)
