A Royal Cuisine at Korean BBQ Seoul Garden
During my last trip to Korea, my only regret was not trying out their famous Galbi, or grilled dishes of beef or pork short ribs marinated in Korean soy sauce. Fortunately, there are still decent Korean restaurants around KL to satisfy my cravings! And Korean BBQ Seoul Garden is one of them. Situated in the busy area of Kuchai Lama Entrepreneur’s Park, we were lucky to find a parking spot there before dinner on a weekend evening. Once we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by friendly faces and chants of “Anh-yeong haseyo”, while being shown to our table. We liked their warmth already.

Entering a Korean BBQ restaurant meant that I was expecting the place to be filled with oily smoke and smell, only to be taken by surprise. Even though there were individual hot plates at each table, the BBQ was only done at one corner of the restaurant, thereby greatly reducing the amount of smoke emission, much to my delight. The last thing you would want is to smell like BBQ meat after your special date out, no?

While waiting for our food to arrive, we were served with a wide variety of Banchan, or the mini side dishes common in all Korean restaurants. Apparently, the more Banchan is served in a meal, the more formal it is, with the Korean Royal Cuisine having 12 banchan. Guess what? We were served 12 that night!

Fresh lettuce

Complimentary salad
Most of the Banchan were delicious, including the Kimchi, spinach (Sigeumchi namul), potato salad and pancake. Of course, it made us happier that these dishes were all refillable.

Kimchi
Soon our order of Kimchi Jjigae (Kimchi stew) arrived bubbling hot in a claypot, with a fiery red outlook. I immediately started worrying about the level of spiciness of this soup but fear not, for it was not overly spicy. It was, in fact, very tasty and delicious, to a point of being addictive! I fell in love with this pot of stew! It was filled with plenty of enoki mushrooms, beancurd, glass noodles and cabbage, and was served with a bowl of rice. Definitely my idea of comfort food at its best.

Thank you!
i’ve not been to this restaurant before but the one i frequent was another one nearby call “Seoul Korea”, i guess just two blocks away.. my ex-colleague knows the boss of that restaurant, so whenever we go there with him, the boss will give us extra, hahaha.. but to be frank, even going without him, the food and banchan they serve are of good quality.. especially the banchan, more variety than those you were served, which i think they are really hospitable..

Yea I have been to Seoul Korea too, the restaurant. To be honest, when I brought Saucer to this restaurant, I thought they’re the same place, until I went inside and noticed the difference
This means I’ll have to bring him there again to Seoul Korea so that he can compare which is better.
As for me, I prefer Seoul Garden as I found the environment to be more cheerful and comfortable, as opposed to Seoul Korea’s dark and woody furniture. But that’s just me
Wow…the seoul garden is KL is way better than the one in Malacca.
