Roger’s Way of Delighting You
Every few weeks or so, I’d drop by Kota Damansara to explore new restaurants to try out. And every time I am there, there’s bound to be something new! A couple of weeks ago, Saucer and I finally tried a relatively new place called Rogers Delight thanks to Bok‘s recommendation. Once I entered the restaurant, I immediately liked the clean and straightforward design of its interior. White and spotless walls, bright lights, black solid furniture and cool air-conditioning. Comfortable indeed.

If you are unsure of what to order, just look at the walls and check out the recommendations. Most of the food we ordered that night were from the wall.

Recommended dishes
To start with, I had a glass of Umbra with Sour Plum juice. It was one of the best that I’ve ever had! Very concentrated, fragrant and huge! I seldom recommend drinks in my food review but really, you have to try this if you love something sour and slightly sweet.

witch’s favourite drink!
The first dish to arrive that night was the Lady’s fingers with shrimp paste. I personally don’t fancy Lady’s Fingers so I was only eating the shrimp paste. Saucer, on the other hand, LOVES lady’s fingers and he said these were fresh and good. He gave double thumbs-up for these and had multiple helpings as well. *LOL* As for the shrimp paste, I’d prefer it to be more spicy with more kick, though this was also not bad to go with rice.

The second dish arrived piping hot in a clay pot, apparently their signature dish - Special Curry Duck with Yam. Portion was huge and generous, with lots of duck pieces and yam. The yam worked to filter off the pungent duck smell that some might not like, plus it made the curry appear all the more thicker and wholesome. One gripe I had was the slightly burnt smell I tasted with this dish. Not sure if it’s supposed to be cooked this way but it definitely took some time to get used to it.

Special Curry Duck with Yam (RM18/RM25/RM40)
The Assam Fish Head was more of my thing though, spicy and sour and very appetizing. Would have loved it to be more spicy, but that’s just me. I think my tolerance level for spiciness is quite high. *LOL* Other than that, the fish meat was fresh and smooth, with no significant fishy smell at all.

Saucer’s favourite dish that night, aside from the Lady’s fingers, was the Sweet & Sour Seafood with Pineapple. I found squid rings, fish fillets and shrimps inside this combo and all of them were super fresh, especially the fish fillets! Saucer loved the fish fillets so much he kept picking them out from the bunch.
The sweet and sour sauce was moreish and not overly sour, just the way I liked it.
