3-day Getaway to Penang – Part 3 (finale)
After the 2 days of my Penang getaway here and here, it was finally our last day in the Pearl of the Orient! Since my mom’s visitors needed to leave Penang in the afternoon, we woke up early for breakfast. Looking for food in the early morning was not my forte, since I’m not really a morning person,
but thankfully, I remembered the place that Wai Lian brought me to once! The place with Super Hokkien Mee that you need to go preferably before 9am or risk it being sold out. Breakfast was at One Corner Cafe at Jalan Bawasah, where the signature dish is the Super Hokkien Mee.

The Loh Bak here was just average but the Char Kuey Teow was a hit! My mom’s friends ordered a plate after another!

After breakfast, it was shopping time! I had stayed in Penang for almost 5 years before this and never knew of the places that we went to until that day. We actually went to this place in Tanjung Bunga with a row of shops all selling souvenirs! The first stop was at the Cocoa Boutique, where all kinds of chocolate were displayed and sold. The customers were also allowed to taste the chocolates before buying them and seriously, the variety was just humongous! There were chocolates with all kinds of flavours – orange, alcoholic, strawberry and even durian!

Just a few doors away, was the Penang Coffee Tree shop. Penangites! Have you heard of this coffee brand before? I still haven’t! Until then, that is. Which makes me wonder whether this brand was just created for the sake of tourists or was this really Penang White Coffee as claimed by their signboard?

The shop was huge and filled with all sorts of coffee. Again, variety was aplenty such as Hazelnut, Cinnamon, Green Tea, Chocolate and possibly 20 others.

Visitors were allowed to try any type of coffee they wanted to, with the coffee coming from these thermos flasks.

Coffee tasting?
Surrounding the shop were very cute coffee beans and decor made from coffee beans.
