Birthday Surprise in a Blue Box
Thank you everyone for the sweet messages and wishes on my birthday in my previous post! Now I’m sure most of you would be curious to know what exactly happened during my birthday, or the eve of my birthday to be exact.
What’s the blue box? What’s inside it?
Well 3rd of October certainly marks a very important date in my life, being my birthday and my ROM date. This is also the first year I’m celebrating my birthday as a married person, as well as the first time I’m celebrating a real anniversary. During the Saturday before my birthday, I woke up in the morning, suddenly feeling the urge to go hiking. In fact, I have been wanting to go hiking for the longest time but just didn’t manage to do it successfully. Seeing it’s the eve of my birthday, I used it to my advantage and persuaded Saucer to bring me go hiking. Of course, it was met with much grumbling and scowling but we did manage to do a one hour hike in the end.
Bear in mind, during the whole time, I had no idea what was in plan for me. I kept asking him if there were any plans and he said no. So I assumed that we would be free the whole day, until a birthday dinner that night. We reached home at around 12+pm and guess what? He asked me to pack because we’re going to revisit somewhere special! Ooohh the excitement! Of course, I kept bugging him to tell me where we’re going, even though I sort of had an idea where it would be.
And yes, we were going to Shangrila Putrajaya, the place where he proposed 1 year plus ago.

During the journey there, I couldn’t contain my excitement and kept flooding him with questions like, “Are we really going to Shangrila?”, “When did you book this?”, and “I was just talking about Shangrila to you yesterday night!”. When we reached, we managed to get an early check in since there were rooms available. That’s what I love so much about Shangrila in Putrajaya. It’s usually very quiet during the weekends, making us feel like we have the whole hotel to ourselves!
Here are some pictures of our room, and the view from the balcony. Everything was perfect except for the lack of air-conditioning that day. There was air blowing out from the vents but it wasn’t cold. Apparently, there were technical difficulties with the air-cond and we didn’t know when it would be fixed. Not to worry! For I knew what I wanted to do exactly!
We went to the nearby Putrajaya Alamanda Shopping Centre to shop!

I loved their idea of a table with a folding mirror! When it’s not in use, just fold it back and it would be transformed into a working desk! Otherwise, put the mirror up and it becomes a dressing table. Tadaa! The hair dryer was stored in the compartment under the mirror too.

The only reason I love going to Alamanda was the existence of Esprit Outlet there. The outlet is huge, with lots of Esprit garments at more than 50% off. I think I must have spent at least 1 hour there, not to mention making my wallet lighter after.
We went back to the hotel at around 6pm, to enjoy a free cocktail each, for every patron. Then, it was time for dinner! Saucer pulled my leg by saying that he booked the whole of Azur, the elegant in-house restaurant. But really, look at how empty the place was! Perhaps it was because we dined early. By 8pm, the place was more than half full.
