Make A Wish on Mooncake Festival
And then, it started to lift up by itself! Up, up and away!

Up, up and away!
While it went up, I made a few wishes of my own.

Make a wish!
Then, all of us watched the lanterns in awe and silence. It was a sight to behold, not to mention the beautiful moon at the background.

Brothers looking on with wonder

Beautiful sight to behold
After we let the wishing lanterns up, we continued with the lighting of paper lanterns.

Colourful Paper lanterns
Every year, we would also pray to the moon and prepare a table of offerings including mooncakes.

Offerings to the deity and the moon
Last but not least, it would be party time! We would eat mooncakes, fruits, nuts and cookies while drinking tea and chatting away. It’s a moment that I enjoy very much – the sounds of laughter, chatter and joy.

Happy Mooncake Festival

Are the red lanterns bio-degradable?! What happens to all the red lanterns when they fall to the ground?
Pureglutton recently posted..Marbled Angkoos
The red lanterns are made by very thin paper, so yes, they’re bio-degradable.
Wah!! Nice wishing lanterns! So what did you wish for? : D

But will the lantern be a danger to passing airplanes? Last time it was in the news that paper lanterns released into the sky posed a problem for airplanes.

I don’t think the lantern will go that high. Not the ones that we lit up anyway, because we saw it go to a certain level and the fire went off.
Oohhh, I love your pink lantern! Unfortunately, I HATE moon cakes. They just taste horrible to me and I absolutely refuse to eat them during the Moon Festival. It’s okay, I’m usually too busy with the lanterns anyway.
Why do you hate mooncakes?? Have you tried the cold ones? They’re not that bad! hehe..
Dude i tried playing the laser harp, but instead of happiness it only gave me a mild sense of satisfaction. Maybe i wasn’t doing it right.
I find this really interesting!
