Drenching Wet Banana Leaf Rice at Sri Paandi
During the Merdeka holiday, I woke up late (ah, the joy of sleeping in) and by the time I was up and ready, it was time for brunch. OK, fine, Lunch, if you insist. 
I was craving for Naan as stated in my Tweets, while Saucer was looking for Banana Leaf Rice (BLR). So, we ended up at Restoran Sri Paandi (PJ), an Indian restaurant famous for BLR.
Mango Lassi (RM3.50)
I don’t why but whenever we eat BLR, we’ll definitely order Mango Lassi. It’s like the default drink to be ordered with BLR. Perhaps the sweet and milky lassi works well to complement the hot and spicy curry from the rice?
Unlimited side dishes of BLR
One thing most guys love about BLR is that you get served with unlimited side dishes, rice and papadam! Oh yes, papadam! In Sri Paandi, there were about 4 side dishes served, ranging from long beans, potatoes, pickled cucumber and acar. Of course, don’t forget the papadam. And the gravy! There is chicken, fish and dhal to be chosen, also unlimited.
Chicken curry, fish curry and dhal
Smother the rice with as much gravy as you want. Mix and match or just stick to one type. Saucer requested to mix all 3 types of gravy onto his rice.

And if you’re not satisfied with just vegetables, there are side dishes to be chosen from – ranging from Chicken, Mutton, Beef or Fish. He chose with piece of Fried chicken which was just out of the wok. Still smoking hot and smelling delicious!

Uiks! they didnt give you the fried cili and the fried bittergourd ka? Taste very good with BLR.

Oh yea, they gave the fried chilli… But they only gave it in the middle of the meal, by then our fingers were all stained with curry so I didn’t manage to take picture of that! LOL!
Unlimited side dishes? Really ah?! Nirvana charges RM2 if you ask for a refill. >.<

We had multiple servings of the papadam.. and Saucer would have refilled more, that is, if his stomach could handle more. LOL!
Dunno if this was the one in PJ that my friend took me to. Nice… I love banana leaf. Learnt one thing – they just dump the rice on your leaf and you must ask them to stop or they will go on dumping. I did not know that when I went – no banana leaf restaurant here. LOL!!!

I actually prefer Kanna’s curry but Saucer thinks Sri Paandi’s is nicer
i think i’ve been to this restaurant.. but then never been again, because i saw with real eyes a car knocked on few tables by the roadside.. so dangerous~~ :p
