Drenching Wet Banana Leaf Rice at Sri Paandi
The fried chicken was still crispy at the time we had it, and the meat inside was oozing with juices, or could it be oil? *LOL* Still, it went very well with the flavourful BLR rice loaded with gravy. I regretted a little bit not ordering BLR as well.
Fried Chicken (RM4.50)
Instead, I went for the Plain Roti Naan as per my original plan. Alas, the naan fared nothing close to the BLR. The crust was not as crispy and the naan was too thick for my liking. This was definitely not as good as the naan I had in Pelita previously. But I have to say I loved the gravy served together with the naan. I couldn’t make out what curry it was, but it was very good and it’s the reason why I even finished half of the naan.
Roti Naan (RM2.50)
I also ordered the Tandoori Chicken to be paired with the Naan. I was expecting a chicken drumstick and thigh, as with most tandoori chicken that I’ve ordered before, but I was served instead with chicken breast. The part of a chicken that I disliked the most! Oh dear.. I ate it anyhow and true enough, the meat was dry and hard, not to mention bland. It was the worst nightmare of a chicken. That’s why I never favoured chicken breast, even though it’s the healthiest part of a chicken.
Tandoori Chicken (RM5)
Overall, I’d say that the BLR from Sri Paandi was one of the better ones. It kept Saucer going back there for more than 2 times at least. After my experience here, I’d say just go with the BLR and forget about everything else!

Oh yea, they gave the fried chilli… But they only gave it in the middle of the meal, by then our fingers were all stained with curry so I didn’t manage to take picture of that! LOL!
Unlimited side dishes? Really ah?! Nirvana charges RM2 if you ask for a refill. >.<

We had multiple servings of the papadam.. and Saucer would have refilled more, that is, if his stomach could handle more. LOL!
Dunno if this was the one in PJ that my friend took me to. Nice… I love banana leaf. Learnt one thing – they just dump the rice on your leaf and you must ask them to stop or they will go on dumping. I did not know that when I went – no banana leaf restaurant here. LOL!!!

I actually prefer Kanna’s curry but Saucer thinks Sri Paandi’s is nicer
i think i’ve been to this restaurant.. but then never been again, because i saw with real eyes a car knocked on few tables by the roadside.. so dangerous~~ :p
