*UPDATED with Giveaway: A Treat for the Palate at Wasabi Bistro

Of course, what’s authentic Japanese food without some sushi rolls? At Wasabi Bistro, be prepared to be pampered with a range of colourful sushi rolls that not only satisfies your taste buds but your eyes too! I was literally screaming for joy when I saw the beautiful spread of sushi rolls set atop of the solid wood long platter. The left most sushi roll was the Salmon Mango roll, which was my favourite of the lot. The rice was well-wrapped, not overly tight and yet never easy to lose a morsel. The combination of mango and salmon was just brilliant! And for someone who loves mangoes, this was a way to my heart, I mean stomach. *LOL*

Sushi Roll – Salmon mango roll, Rainbow roll and Dynamite roll

The roll at the centre was Rainbow Roll, which had a California base with a top of tuna, salmon, avocado, prawn and Japanese snapper. And the last type of roll with sesame seeds on top was named as Dynamite Roll, with tuna and tuna tendon and fatty bits, mixed with spicy sauce.

The Wasabi Spring Roll came greeting us with its smell first, then its golden brown and crispy skin. Inside, it was filled with minced beef and lettuce with spicy miso sauce. Best eaten while it’s hot, when the spring roll skin was still crispy, and the beef was still warm and soft. Fabulous.

Last but not least, to end the dinner on a sweet note, we had none other than Macha or Green Tea Ice-cream, topped with red bean paste. The ice-cream was smooth with the unmistakable fragrant of green tea which was slightly bitter. This is where the sweet red bean paste came into place, balancing the ice-cream and giving the dessert a sweet aftertaste.
