Waroeng Little Jakarta serves Javanese Street Food

Saucer had the Pepes Tenggiri Set, which was actually Indonesian version of ‘otak-otak’.

I found the Ketupat Rendang Set to have a nutty and thick gravy which was spicy and appetizing. That’s exactly the type of rendang gravy that would go well with the otherwise plain and bland ketupat rice. Do consider this for a good buka puasa meal!

After the spicy meal, we had something sweet to sooth our palate. The Javanese Special Cendol is really quite the bomb here, because the cendol was fresh and firm without being mashy. Also, the secret to a great bowl of cendol is the fragrant coconut milk and javanese sugar used. The combination just hit all the right notes of my tongue and I didn’t want to share this! *LOL*

Saucer had the Cincau Ijo Limau instead which was also very good and refreshing! The green jelly had the texture of cincau but had an aromatic pandan(?) flavour to it. The lime and the cooling shaved ice made the combination an absolute thirst-quencher. I would definitely order this on a hot hot day.

Overall, we had a pretty good experience with Little Jakarta and I especially applaud the owner, Remus, for being so dedicated and passionate about bringing the best of Jakarta street food over to Malaysia. Kudos! And at prices so affordable, we’ll definitely be back again.

I just have to comment on this place. I just found out about this place on the web, never been to the place, but looking at the pictures, I believe its just another mislead indonesian or so called jakarta food. In my life, this is the first time for me to know nasi uduk with yellow color. Yellow color rice, indonesian call it nasi kuning. In indonesia, we never have any nasi uduk kuning. Some more, their sayur asam, I never find any original indonesia sayur asam using carrots and slice tomatoes. Seems like another mislead of indonesia food in Malaysia, same thing like so called balinese restaurant in KL.
