Italian Dining with Style at Senja, Hotel Saujana KL
What would you say to dining at a place with breathtaking views like this?

Lake view and golf course
Or having a glass of wine at a place like this?

Lakeside dining
Isn’t the place just amazing? I have to admit I was just in awe when I reached this restaurant, lingering around it for a good few minutes before stepping my foot inside. I just loved the view of the lake and the green golf course beyond it. And where could this place be other than Senja Restaurant at Hotel Saujana Kuala Lumpur.

Senja Restaurant, Hotel Saujana KL
The whole building was like a bungalow on its own, vintage, grand and huge.

The main entrance to Senja
The awe didn’t stop there, for once I stepped inside, I was taken aback by how classy the place was! Each table was set meticulously, lined with crisp, white table cloth. And best of all? There were fresh bouquets on each table! *loves*

I found my favourite white roses here too!

Fresh flowers on each table
The place was so pretty and elegant, it’s definitely the place I would go for a romantic date out.
We were served with some very cute canapes and fresh bread while waiting for our food.

Perhaps a glass of wine or two? Wines were supplied by Albert Wines, which also supplies wines to many other hotels in KL. For someone who doesn’t love wine, I found something that I liked here! It was the Santa Margherita Prosecco, a type of Sparkling White Wine which was so easy to drink.

Santa Margherita Prosecco and 2007 Sangiovese
We sampled a menu of authentic Italian food that night, prepared by a chef from Italy himself. The Adriatic Seafood Salad was presented first, which was made from mussel, shrimp, bits of calamari and served with a piece of cheese on the side. Exquisite.

Insalata di Mare dell’ Adriatico (Adriatic Seafood Salad)
Most of us in Malaysia are used to eating pizza with chicken, beef or seafood. But the original Italian pizza is actually made from nothing but cheese. Lots of it! The secret, according to the waiter, was to sprinkle some chilli oil on top to bring out the goodness of the pizza. And true enough, he was right! Those thin crusted pizza filled with cheese certainly is the way to a man’s, I mean woman’s, stomach.

Pizza Margherita (Tomato and fresh mozarella)
Senja does put effort in giving the patrons a memorable dining experience. Aside from the thoughtful fresh flowers at every table, there’s also a 3-piece band playing that night. They went around all the tables and played a couple of songs at each one of them, keeping the patrons entertained and certainly jovial. You could even request for a specific song to be sung!

Fun 3-piece band
The second pizza we had was made from 4 types of cheese! What did I tell ya? Italians and cheese are synonymous baby!

Pizza Quattro Formaggi (Mozzarella, gorgonzola, emmenthal and provolone)
The Risotto or Italian rice was creamy without being soggy.

Risotto alla Milanese (Saffron Milanese Risotto)
Of course, what’s Italian food without some good old pastas?

Linguine Mellegusti (Linguine with cream bolognese and fresh herbs)

Rigatoni Alla Norma (Rigatoni pasta with eggplant, ricotta and tomato)
The pan fry sea bass did not disappoint with a fillet of fresh and firm fish, cooked to perfection.

Branzino Scottato Servito su Pure’ di Piselli e Salsa All’ Arancio (Pan fry sea bass with green pea and orange juice)
And last but not least, there’s no need to even guess the dessert. It’s the famous Classic Tiramisu, and the chef did it splendidly with fluffy sponge and light cream on top. Oh, eat that with a scoop of chocolate ice-cream too, to make the experience so much sweeter.

Classico Tiramisu
All the dishes were made possible thanks to the Chef!

Hey there, Can I know what the price range of proper dinner for two at this place? Would be much appreciated! Thanks…
Hi Ash,
Pricing starts from RM40++ per person. Very affordable
thanks for the prompt reply.. Well I am talking bout a nice romantic date.. Like a 4-5 course dinner with some proper wine? How much would that be?
Can you ask them to prepare a multi course dinner or would you have to choose the items individually by yourself? ie – you choose the appetizers, entres and what not by yourself OR do they have set multi course dinners?
Hi Ash,
I wish I could give you more info but to be on the safe side (at the risk of giving you wrong info), I think it would be better to get the accurate info from the restaurant itself.
Please call Senja at 03 7843 1234 ext 4068 ya!
italian foods are very tasty and most of their recipes are heart friendly too –`
