Roasted Pork Noodles at Mama Kitchen, Puchong
Puchong is really a food haven. Just during the past few months, so many new eating outlets have mushroomed all over, especially at the Bandar Puteri Puchong area. There are several restaurants which are branches of restaurants in PJ, such as Hon Kee Porridge and Mama’s Kitchen, whose main branch is in TTDI. Yes! Now I don’t have to drive all the way to TTDI to get my dose of Claypot Lou She Fun or Roasted Pork noodles! Bless their souls.

Once I entered the restaurant, I couldn’t help but notice the many salivating signature dishes plastered all over the walls of the interior. One of the notable ones was the Claypot Lou She Fun (or rat’s tail noodles), with a raw egg on top! I don’t know why but I just love eating Lou She Fun! In fact, back in Kampar, we have a famous stall that sells Lou She Fun, but not in claypot. So imagine my excitement when I saw it being served!

Once it’s served, one has to quickly mix the noodles well to make sure the raw egg coats everything well. The serving of minced meat on top was also generous and savoury, which went very well with the otherwise bland taste of lou she fun alone. I really enjoyed eating this and I would have been able to finish the whole pot if not for sharing! *LOL*

Mix the noodles well
Another of Mama’s Kitchen Specialty is their Garlic Roasted Pork Wanton Noodle. Oh dear, this is definitely a must order! The roasted pork was fried to perfection, with caramelized skin that gave it a sweet flavour on top of the savoury pork meat. And the garlic! Oh the garlic! Huge pieces deep fried to perfection, giving the noodles a distinguished aroma even before it reached our table. Best of all, the noodles used were not overly soft and was perfect with the pork.

The Peppercorn Pig Stomach Soup was served next, with strong peppery flavour that could easily make one sneeze. I’m not a fan of pepper so I didn’t really know how to appreciate this, but I did see some nods of approval from those who drank this.

The Honey Pork Belly was similar to Sweet and Sour pork, except that the pork used here was from the pork belly. So expect layers of fatty meat sandwiched in between lean pork, deep fried and then drenched with sweet honey sauce.

I enjoyed the Creamy Buttered Squid which was another deep fried dish covered with buttery and savoury gravy. This was very appetizing with rice.

Another variant of noodles in their specialty was the Large Fresh Water Prawns Fried Noodles which came with several big water prawns to satiate your seafood cravings.

The Assam Fish deserved a thumbs-up from me because of the awesome, appetizing gravy. It was sourish and spicy, and absorbed into the fish very well.

Marmite Chicken (RM13 small, RM20 medium, RM30 big)
I don’t really like bitter dishes, but the Bitter Gourd soup was very refreshing and cooling to the body as an after effect. Definitely good for people who sleep late these days due to the World Cup craze, don’t you think?

Spicy “Kam Heong” La-La (RM10 small, RM15 medium, RM20 big)

Mama Kitchen in Puchong is the second outlet after the first at TTDI. I am not sure of the quality at TTDI, but I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with the Roasted Pork Noodles at the Mama Kitchen in Puchong!

The older restaurants, some are still surviving, while some have to change owners due to such stiff competition!

Come let’s go!
I went to this place last Oct with my mom and brother. The clay pot Lou Shi Fan was ok, and we all agreed that the Garlic Roasted Pork Wanton Noodle was totally awful. Obviously, we spot a plenty of unmelted rock sugar being added to the noddle which made the taste totally off. Can you imagine eating noddle with ROCK SUGAR?
I have to say their food was not even 30% close to the original one in Petaling Street. We doubted that this restaurant did not have any single relationship with the one in Petaling St at all. They just pirated the name, “famous clay pot lou shi fan in Petaling St”
Seriously, I won’t recommend anyone who loves food to come to this restaurant.
would like to try.. What is the address?
The address is at the end of the post dear
Thanks..Went there on that day itself..Ordered both their specialty =) But can’t finish…it;s just me and my 4 years old dotter… lol
Overall food was nice but not extra-ordinary….
Great to know that!
Yea.. above average but not over the top! Agree with you
