Drool-worthy Claypot Salted Fish Pork at Jia Kampar
I was back in Kampar a few weekends ago to visit my family and as usual, we would all gather for dinner during one of the nights. This time, we picked Jia Kampar which has been around for a couple of years and is no stranger to the locals.

“Kar Hou Yuet Yun”
The restaurant is always packed especially during weekends, so making a reservation would be a good idea.

Every time we visit this place, my grandpa would never fail to order their Clay pot Salted Fish Pork (Ham Yu Fa Lam in Cantonese). I was never a fan of this dish, but after eating it at Jia Kampar for a good few times now, I’m starting to fall in love with it! The aroma of salted fish was unmistakable, and the pork slices were thin and flavourful. This was extremely good with rice, as it opened up our appetite. My grandpa always said, “Just order this dish for me and I’m good for dinner”. *LOL*

Another of my favourite dish is the Spinach soup, boiled with lots of spinach, anchovies and some century eggs. The soup was one of the thicker ones, savoury and a rich of anchovies’ taste.
