Vegas Full House Burger at Vegas Kitchen
When I first read Motormouth’s entry on the 7 inch thick burger from Vegas Kitchen in Kampar, I immediately told myself and I HAD to give it a try when I go back to my hometown. And that day came about 2 weeks ago, when I went back during the Wesak weekend. Kampar was bustling with people, especially those from outstation, since it’s a long weekend. Traffic was slower than usual, and more restaurants are mushrooming in the student-centric area of Taman Bandar Baru, Kampar.
During one of the nights, a couple of hours after dinner, I suggested (more like dragged/ordered) to my brothers to go try the popular Full House Burger at Vegas Kitchen. Truthfully, we were not really hungry that night, so 3 of us shared the tall burger.

Root beer float (RM3)
The burger was really TALL! In fact, it was too tall that it only managed to stay vertical for a mere few seconds, after which it collapsed. *LOL* Truth be told, I was really impressed with the burger’s ingredients. Instead of the normal patties, they actually used a real chicken chop as one of the layers in between! Talk about being fresh! It had a piece of deep fried beef patty, as well as a fried egg, 2 slices of ham, 1 slice of cheese, 2 calamari rings on top, and lots of greens.

Vegas Full House Burger (RM11.50)
And all that for a mere RM11.50! It’s definitely a steal! I was so glad that we didn’t order anything else, because we found it to be too much even after dividing it into 3 portions. My only gripe was that they should have put sauce on the plate. It totally made the bottom piece of bread wet and soggy, beyond edible. Perhaps next time I should request for them to place the sauce on another bowl.

Can you spot the piece of grilled chicken at the bottom?
But otherwise, I have no complaints! Definitely well worth the money spent. And a good alternative to the food from market or mamak stalls at night. But please make sure you share it! Don’t say I didn’t warn ya!

i’m relating to that 8″ burger you had in Cravings.. errr, this 7″ burger, as compared, looks a bit too gross to me leh.. it’s like just dump in everything, it doesn’t feel appetising like that refined one in Cravings lor..

You’re right, the presentation here was a little messy compared to Cravings. But the taste wasn’t so bad!

Actually the chicken and beef patties at the bottom were quite huge. The top few layers were calamari rings, so they looked much smaller compared to the bread

Yea man.. be prepared to get dirty when you order this!
I really feel that such towering burgers are merely gimmicks to attract unsuspecting diners. You can’t possibly bite into those…so you would have to take it apart…which completely defeats the purpose of having a burger. I guess RM11.50 is ok for that…but I’m sure there are better ways to present the whole lot…rather than in the form of a burger!

In a way, you’re right. But then again, we’re talking about students business over here, and what better way to attract students than creating cute gimmicks on food?
Maddening right? No wonder I was told the place is crowded almost every single night. Thanks to the more than eager students of UTAR?
