Chilling out at Sky Bar, Traders Hotel
It was a Saturday night, and a few days before our 7th month of married life anniversary! So Saucer decided to bring me to the much hyped Sky Bar.
He tried to call earlier that day to make a reservation but all tables were fully booked! The guy asked us to walk in instead, preferably before 10pm. So, we changed and left the house earlier to reach there around 9.45pm. Lucky for us, we had a ‘table’. I said ‘table’ because it’s really a couch! *LOL* They led us to this comfy 2-seater couch just by the poolside, facing the KL night view. This was technically not a ‘table’ but we were happy since it was comfortable and we had a nice view.

Can you spot the couch on the bottom left corner from the photo above? We were sitting on an exact couch just next to it! So you now have a better idea how our ‘table’ was like.
It’s no surprise that Sky Bar is famous for its amazing view, since it’s situated high up on the 33rd floor of Traders Hotel. We were literally eye-to-eye with the Petronas Twin Towers link bridge!

View from our seats
Also, the whole bar area surrounds a glorious swimming pool which is only open during the day until 8pm. Otherwise, I’m sure we would have seen some splashing activities going on that night.

Black and white view
I ordered a mocktail called Shirley Temple (RM20), which tasted very much like Sprite with a little lime. The only difference was the little maraschino cherry on top!

On the other hand, Saucer went for something more basic, a bottle of Heineken beer (RM26).

Saucer getting drunk already
The atmosphere at Sky Bar was relaxing, with bearable music in the background, such that Saucer and I could still chat without having to shout. Also, I liked the idea that the place was airy so that the smell of smoke didn’t stifle us. However, as the night grew, I noticed the music getting louder and louder. And it was almost impossible to chat anymore. I guess what Saucer said was right, that this place is meant for group outing rather than a romantic one, since we couldn’t even hear each other! *LOL* And true enough, when we looked around the place, we noticed most of the tables were filled with groups of people instead of couples.

Spot all the groups having a drink or two at the Sky Bar
However, I couldn’t get enough of the amazing view though! Ahh.. what a nice night view from Sky Bar. I am still blown away by this shot taken of our very own Petronas Twin Towers.

We’re going there again soon, when our Penang friend comes to visit us. You know who you are! *wink* This time, we made a reservation so we’re getting that couch by the window!

You should try it once! When you visit KL of course
I didn’t book the last time I went there. I went there early at 6pm and there were still some people swimming.
Luckily there was no one smoking at that time, or I would have left early! Haha
But the view was great and this is THE place to chit chat with friends and have a good time.

You were there at 6pm?? No wonder you didn’t need to book! That’s too early!
It’s a nice place to chit chat but towards the later part of the night, the music actually got louder and it’s harder to listen to people’s voice…
