Big Brother Ensures You’re Satiated
Located within the up and coming The Strand area at Kota Damansara, Big Brother is a Halal Western food restaurant that caters to the old and the young. We decided to give this restaurant a try one night during dinner time. Reaching there at 8pm, I found that parking was a breeze! Once we entered, we ordered our drinks. And I had the Oreo ice-blended again. What did I tell ya?

When we were browsing through the menu, I spotted a picture of a plate of nachos covered with cheese; and I remember pointing it out to Sloppychic that THAT was surely sinful and fattening! And what do you know! Within minutes, that very same dish was served to us. *LOL* The oozing cheese, the crispy nachos, lightly baked til golden brown was a combination to kill.

I especially enjoyed the Special Gratin Chicken With Brown Mushroom Sauce which was ever so tender and moist. The layer of cheese on top went very well with the mushroom sauce, complementing the otherwise typical chicken chop.

If you are torn and do not know what to order, the Mixed Grill is the perfect choice with a slab of Chicken, beef and fish fillet served with fries and salad. In the midst of the meal, we had the chance to talk to manager Hadi, who said that he’d rather have customers leaving leftovers on their plates (indicating that they’re full), as opposed to serving small, petite portions like those in fine dining. Therefore, rest assured that you will never leave Big Brother feeling hungry.

The Steak was done medium, with the moisture still locked within. Most importantly, no blood was observed when we sliced the steak open. For I simply cannot tolerate seeing blood in my food!

For those who do not enjoy beef or chicken, there is plenty of fish variety to go around.

And last but not least, Hadi served the infamous Big Brother BBQ ribs, which were oven-baked to perfection. The gravy was flavourful and the meat slid off the bone so very easily!

Dessert was meringue shaped into a mountain. So very cute! Within the mountain there were 2 scoops of ice-cream waiting to be discovered. Try it out!

I enjoyed the food and the company of Hadi, who was always ready for a chat and who made sure the patrons leave with a full stomach. Definitely a place worth a revisit.

Good thing that they’re Halal as well, for very VERY seldom one can find worthy Halal Western food. Aside from those in hotels.
I remember this one from Ken’s raves, back when we were circling Kota Damansara.

Wow, you could lose your appetite totally eh? Well that is a good method for losing weight! (not that you need it!) LOL! Pricing is very reasonable, Most of the dishes below RM20, except for the ribs perhaps..

i went there last weekend….awesome taste and the price is reasonable…and i can say, it’s much delicious compare to kenny rogers…
