My very first pint of GUINNESS on St Patrick’s Day
For those in the dark about St Patrick’s Day, it is a symbolic celebration originating from Ireland many centuries ago, which has presently grown to become a global phenomenon that is synonymous with great time and good mates, something best shared with GUINNESS, the world’s number 1 premium black beer.

Pints of GUINNESS
Not only did I have my first pint of Guinness during this festival, I also had the chance to sample some of the Guinness-infused food from Santini and San Francisco Steakhouse at Tropicana City Mall.

We started with some bread while waiting for our GUINNESS infused food to arrive.

Soft and warm bread
The wait was over when the GUINNESS-infused chicken fillets were served in front of us, piping hot and smelling extremely good. Seriously, I was trying my best not to take a piece when everyone was busy taking photographs. *LOL* Upon the first bite, the crispy skin opened up to warm and tender chicken meat that was full of flavour. And yes, a little of GUINNESS too! These chicken fillets were really addictive as I found myself having it over and over again. *gasp*

Of course, how else to pair with the chicken if not for the premium black beer, GUINNESS? They went very well with each other – a bite of chicken, chew it and a BIG gulp of GUINNESS. That’s how you fully enjoy this dish and the drink. Wonderful match.

Awesome burger with plenty of cheese
The giant sausage was another first for me! It was so long and big that eating just a quarter of the sausage already made me full. I really enjoyed the texture of the sausage which as firm and springy with a certain amount of tenderness. Since it’s a little on the salty side, it’s meant to be eaten with the bread. Oh, and GUINNESS on the side, of course!

As for something Italian, Santini prepared ravioli with stuffing infused with GUINNESS. Ravioli, as they say, is the Italian version of wan tan! *LOL*

Ravioli also goes well with GUINNESS!

Awesome thin-crust pizza
What’s a complete meal without desserts yea? The creme brulee was torched to perfection with soft and smooth interior. A bit into the custard was bursting with aroma without being overly sweet. Just the right type of dessert for me.

And then, we were presented with one of the best creations of desserts – chocolate fondant! I had my first experience of fondant several years ago in Penang and I fell in love with it ever since! I especially loved the moment when we first cut into the center of the cake, watching the glorious chocolate flowing out just like a volcano. Simply gorgeous!

For those of you who would like to have a taste of the St Patrick’s Festival this year, it will be held in Central Park Avenue, 1 Utama, on March 19th, featuring heaps of laughter, fun and GUINNESS! Not to forget, it will be a day accompanied by Malaysia’s top stand-up comedians including Douglas Lim, Kuah Jenhan and Kavin Jayaram, a couple of top rocking bands, fun games and activities, exciting street performers and plenty of hearty GUINNESS-infused cuisine and pints of GUINNESS to go around.
If you’re not from KL, fret not! As there will also be GUINNESS St Patrick’s Festival happening across the countries on 17th of March, with 13 parties in all! That is an amazing amount partying, if you ask me! These smaller versions of St Patrick’s Day parties will feature plenty of GUINNESS-infused food, the distinctive black beer and happiness.
Last but not least, in order to commemorate this joyous festival, GUINNESS is giving out one of three collectible GUINNESS St Patrick’s luggage lock designs with every 3 pints of GUINNESS draught or 1 bucket (5 bottles) of GUINNESS Foreign Extra Stout purchased from participating outlets throughout the month of March.
I have only started on my first pint, and it wasn’t as bad as I’ve expected! I think it does take some time to get used to it but once you found the joy of GUINNESS, there will be no turning back, trust me.
All together now…

To Arthur!

The burger here is around the same price range with Chilli’s/TGIF – around ~RM20+ for one
WOW Santini ! I like that place very much. Despite being a chain, the food quality and service outperforms most higher end authentic italian restaurants in town.
Their desserts are never to be missed. Did you try the pudding? It is very good too.
You sound like you are a loyal Santini supporter eh?
It was only my first time there *shameful* But now that I know how good the food it, there’s always a second and third time

Looks like quite a feast! St Patrick’s Day is huge in New York and the US in general. Have to admit, I’ve never had a full Guinness (just a sip)
