Prince Hotel goes Korean!
In collaboration with Lotte Hotel World Seoul Korea, Prince Hotel is organizing a Korean Food Festival at Eccucino starting from 11th to 21st of March 2010. This festival is jointly supported by The Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Korean Chamber of Commerce KL, The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) Malaysia, Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME), LG Electronics (M) and Hyundai Motor Company.
During the official launch, we had the utmost privilege of watching a high-powered performance Drawing Show Theater by Drawing Show Inc & Pentatonic Inc Korea. This show features highly professional Drawing Actors from Korea including Kyu Jeong, Kim Jin-Kyu and San Lee, showcasing a non-verbal performance of a magical drawing show with diverse drawing techniques and special effects.

2 professional artists at work
Watching them turning a black piece of paper into a colourful drawing within minutes was simply amazing! Look at the final product! All drawn right in front of our very eyes!

Drawing #1 – Malaysia skyline
Next up, a solo performance drawing on a blank white canvas, using just a piece of charcoal. Watching him at work was extremely mind-boggling as he knew exactly what to draw and where to draw it, perfectly – and with style too. Once in a while, he would stop and pose, before continuing his drawing.

Can you guess what he’s drawing?

It has something to do with water…

Almost done
And finally, we were given the surprise effect! The waterfall came to live! There was flowing water and the reflection of the sun. Ah, isn’t it beautiful?

Painting #2 – Waterfall
Last but not least, another solo performance, and by the same person. So impressive and talented is this guy.

Any guesses?
Within minutes, we saw the whole drawing materialize right in front of our eyes, it was a breath-taking experience.

Almost there..

The completed drawing
But wait a minute… suddenly, the lights were dimmed. And just for a split second, the drawing came to live! Splendid! Words just could not describe the awe and wonder that all of us felt that moment. I swore I saw many jaws dropped during that split second, when the background lights came on.

Painting #3 – Napoleon Bonaparte
UPDATED: OK OK, it’s not Pirate on a horse as I captioned earlier, thanks to Derek.
I did a search on it and it’s actually Jacques-Louis David’s version of the Napoleon Bonaparte Crossing the Alps. Here is the original version of the painting, amazing isn’t it?

Jacques-Louis David’s version of the Bonaparte Crossing the Alps
How did he do it? And how did the lights and colours match the painting so very well? Lovely, is an understatement.

The professional artists from Korea
After the impressive show, we were treated to a Korean feast, prepared by Korean Guest Chef Han Chang Soo and his culinary team, Chef Kim Song Ki and Chef Yun Jong Hwan, direct from Lotte Hotel World Seoul Korea.

Green onion pancake

Boiled spicy chicken with vegetables

Seasoned bean curd
All of the Korean specialty were really yummy! If you love Korean food and the show, do make a reservation with Eccucino at Prince Hotel before it’s too late! The Korean food festival ends on the 21st of March 2010, and the buffet dinner is priced at RM79++ per person.

Group picture with the chefs
I still couldn’t get my mind off the amazing artists’ performance. Did I also mention that they were cute?
