Cooking with Bigboysoven.com & SAMSUNG

The year of the Tiger brought about lots of good luck and aura to all of us especially Bigboysoven.com as they have recently been selected as the Samsung brand ambassador! Congratulations! *applause* Due to this new appointment, they have been asked to perform a cooking show in front of live audience at the Ikano Power Center, Kota Damansara recently.

The show started with Sunny baking the Upside down Persimmon cake. It was my time hearing people using persimmon to bake a cake and I was indeed really curious to know how it tasted like.

Without further ado, Sunny started working by peeling and slicing the persimmons and then heating them in the Samsung Trio microwave oven for a short while, before arranging them nicely on the baking tray.  Samsung Trio microwave oven is unique such that it utilizes triple-eating system – the ceramic, quartz and sheath heaters quickly heat up so that one doesn’t have to wait around for hours to eat. This Trio can penetrate the food evenly and deeply that baking becomes faster, more even, and more economical in terms of energy and time.

The Samsung Trio oven was heavily used during the cooking show, be it for baking or for cooking. Simply amazing! Sunny continued to work by mixing the rest of the ingredients such as butter, sugar and eggs until they were smooth and thick.

Sunny set the timer to 45 minutes and what’s left to do was to wait! The turntable made sure the heat penetrated the cake evenly to ensure a moist and fluffy interior.

Before long, the aroma of cake started creeping into our noses and we couldn’t help but hope that we could have a taste of the cake soon! *glutton* The cake turned out to raise nicely and very fragrant!

The cake was turned upside down and we could see pieces of persimmon on top of the very moist cake. Taking a bite into the cake, it was awesome! The cake didn’t look too appealing here probably because we were too eager and turned it upside down before cooling it down sufficiently. But no matter, it tasted wonderful! It was so soft and fluffy, and best of all, very delicious! Most cooking shows would have given us something that they have prepared earlier in order to save time, but tasting something live from a cooking show is totally different and entirely genuine. Bravo!

After Sunny’s turn, it was Sidney to present his Stir0fry Korean rice cake with chicken! Oh yes, Samsung Trio can even stir-fry, isn’t that amazing?  Sidney started with preparation of ingredients including chopping of capsicum, mushrooms and onions.

He then placed the mixture of mushrooms, onions and capsicum into the oven for a few minutes, before mixing them with Korean sauce. Then, together with the chicken, the whole combination was placed into the oven for a further several minutes.

Cooking with Samsung Trio

In parallel, Sidney prepared another bowl of Korean rice cakes with Korean gravy/sauce. When they’re cooked, it was mixed together with the chicken.

If you prefer Korean rice cakes with a slightly crispy edge, you can actually preheat the baking pan for a few minutes and then stir fry the rice cakes on it after that.

And finally, the dish was completed! So simple and easy to prepare, don’t you think so? And very clean too. No smelly smoke, oily kitchen or hard-to-clean wok! All made possible by Samsung Trio microwave oven…
