Wedding dinner at Sentosa Regency Hotel, Alor Star
Third part of the wedding trilogy! Sorry for delaying the post, but I’ve been slacking and eating so much during the past few days of Chinese New Year that time flew by! So, here we go with the second dinner on the same weekend. It was held at the Sentosa Regency Hotel, Alor Star, possibly one of the few notable hotels there. We chose to have it in a hotel since we already had a Chinese restaurant dinner back in Kampar.

The hotel package included all the hall decorations, backdrop, chair covers, menu cards, corsages, balloons and so much more! Really worth it, I must say.

Since we’re given a complimentary night’s stay at the hotel, Saucer and I both got ready in the hotel room before that and came down at7.30pm to welcome guests.

Our car in front of the hotel – nice shot!
After the guests arrival, we proceeded to stand by at the ballroom entrance for the wedding march at 8pm.

In Alor Star, we didn’t have the tea ceremony earlier at my MIL’s house, so we had the tea ceremony at the hotel itself. We thought it would be a better idea and more convenient for the guests, such that they did not have to travel to 2 places. The tea ceremony in Alor Star was extremely LONG! There were so many relatives we had to pour tea to, such that I didn’t have the chance to eat that night.
I think I only ate 2 dishes overall, at the beginning.

And not to mention that after the long tea ceremony, we had to give angpow to the juniors. At first, we thought we’re supposed to give angpows to just the kids who are related to us (sort of), but that emcee went and announced to the whole ballroom to ask ALL the kids to line up to get angpows from us! Horror of all horrors! We planned to give the kids an angpow from each of us (meaning two angpows to the kids in the total), but since the amount of kids at the line was humongous, we had to combine our angpows! And each kid only got one. Oh well, blame it on the emcee

After that was the singing performance from my niece-in-law, little Heidi. I think I was changing my outfit so I didn’t manage to listen to her performance. No worries, we have it all recorded on the video.

After my attire change, we went up stage for the cake cutting ceremony. Well, if you must know, the cake was fake.
*LOL*

And this time, I had the chance to open a bottle of champagne as well!

And then, it was the toasting ceremony.

Toasting ceremony
Right after the toasting ceremony, it was time for our duet performance. This time, we sang a different song called The Gift by Martina McBride. So hectic was my schedule there that I really didn’t have time to sit at my table ever since the tea ceremony.

Duet performance
Right after the performance, we went to each table for toasting. See what I mean? No chance to eat at all. There were about 33 tables in total, and we’re proud to say we went to each table without fail!

In the mean time, Poh Leng, one of Saucer’s heng dai, decided to be brave and went up stage to sing a song dedicated to us! Bravo!

Soon after, it was time to say goodbye to the guests (I still didn’t have the chance to sit at my table *fml*).

Standing at the ballroom entrance/exit
When all the guests left, we took a family portrait at the stage. Again, thanks to Steve Tan for the wonderful shots throughout my wedding. I really appreciate his work and his dedication! We showed the morning pictures on slide show in the middle of our dinner, and it actually received a huge applause from everyone! Plus, he’s a really nice and simple guy to work with. No pressure at all.

Last but not least, Saucer’s groomsmen went on stage and threw him in the air! *LOL*

And Saucer’s favourite shot of the night:

Jump of happiness
And that, wrapped up my wedding trilogy. I must say it was a tiring ordeal, but one which I enjoyed despite the ups and downs. I know, wedding is only for the night, but marriage is for the lifetime. I look forward to a lifetime of happiness with my newly wedded husband, holding hands and weathering the storm, come what may.

haha, i guess so.. it’s very tiring with all those ceremonies and celebrations (entertaining friends and relatives), but that is once in a lifetime.. the next time you have to do this is maybe 25 years later when your kids got married.. haha!!

I almost burst into laughter when I read SK’s comment:
“… but that is once in a lifetime…”
Heck, Elizabeth Taylor married 8 times :X
Haha… hopefully it won’t happen to you… but you and Saucer can re-do the vow-exchange ceremony after a few years.

Vow-exchange eh.. never been to one of those before… Not really practiced for us Chinese I suppose..
The 2nd (gold?) gown is pretty unique. Reminds me of Cleopatra.
Your wedding is so sporting, so many people singing. In Singapore, everyone is only concerned about the food.
Now both of you can have a tiger baby! ^_^

Yea the second gown is gold… I thought it reminded me of Beauty and the Beast! Hehe..
Really, Singaporeans only concerned about food? Hehe.. Wah tiger baby! Not so soon!
Wah! So cham, no time to even eat! How to keep smiling without food in the stomach? Haha!!

No, we only had reception in Kampar and Alor Star! That’s tiring enough! *LOL* Erm, I’m not sure if we should post the singing video and pollute everyone’s ears! Haha

Oh ya, your hubby studied in Keat Hwa?
Thanks David! Yes, Alor Star weather is hot! But so is the weather in KL. *LOL* Oh yes, he studied in Keat Hwa! How did you know?
Well, it would be really weird if the emcee announced that only children who are related to the family to come and get angpow mah
Anyway, congrats…

Currently I am in process of finding a reliable office chair supplier for my company. I couldn’t imagine how many different models are available out there. I am working in a pretty large company with thousands of employers and my task is not simple at all, but sites like this one provide me with valuable information. Thanks!
You’re most welcome!
Congratulations!!!
