Baked Chicken and more
This is just a short random post on food that I had the other day.
I was in the mood to cook, so I took out some chicken, steamed some corn, and boiled soup as well! All in the matter of one hour.
The end product is a piece of boneless baked chicken!
Preparation:
1. Defrost a piece of chicken (either thigh or breast).
2. De-bone the chicken – this requires some skill, but trust me, the hard work is so worth it.
3. Marinate the chicken with a dash of salt and pepper, some oyster sauce and sesame oil.
4. Leave it for about 10-15 minutes, at the same time, pre-heat the oven.
5. Before you place the chicken in the oven, sprinkle some herbs on top, just a thin layer enough to cover the surface.
6. Place some cherry tomatoes or potatoes on the side of the chicken if desired.
7. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes (depending on the size and thickness of chicken meat used).
The final product!

The chicken was still moist on the inside, with the flavours all contained within the meat. Bear in mind I used chicken breast meat too, which usually turns out to be dry and tasteless. Therefore, I was very satisfied with my work here. Even Saucer loved it! Too bad I only made one piece for experimental purposes. *LOL*
I also made some ‘mashed’ potatoes, by steaming the sweet potatoes first, and mashing them with spoon. I think I’m supposed to add some milk and butter to make it smooth but I was out of milk, so it was just mashed potatoes, literally. And yes, it didn’t really look very good here.

Finally, the soup! This was pretty straightforward. Just boil the remaining of the chicken bones from the baked chicken earlier, and add in the vegetables (I used Chinese cabbage) after it’s boiled. Keep it boiling for about 10-15 minutes at low heat, then add salt according to taste.

Simple meal right?
Healthy as well! Do try it out at home.
On another note, we passed by a relatively new joint the other day called Tokyo G. The interior decoration was pretty interesting because it’s very GREEN! Literally!

Even plates and chopsticks are green

We tried the Teriyaki Chicken rice which was not too bad. It was unique in its own way because it didn’t have much teriyaki sauce like typical teriyaki rice, and it had some minced meat on top. The portion of chicken was pretty generous too.

We also had a plate of rolls, but I totally forgot the name of this roll. It was wrapped with salmon and avocado, with cucumber and seaweed inside. The rice was firmly wrapped, unlike some rolls that disintegrate once you pick it up. Add in some wasabe and soy sauce and you’re good to go!

OK I’m preparing some interesting post up next. Nothing to do with food and something you’ll only read once and for all in my blog.
