Christmas & New Year Celebrations at Prince Hotel!

It’s that time of the year again, where Christmas dinners are aplenty, shopping is a happy and laughter all merry! Christmas has always been the season for shopping and dining, and it has this magical aura surrounding it, don’t you agree? Speaking of dining, have you planned on where to dine during Christmas? I remember my Christmas dinner last year, where I told Saucer to make a reservation at a restaurant. Saucer kept saying that the place wouldn’t be packed and that there were many other options available if we didn’t manage to get a place at that particular restaurant. But as luck would have it, all the restaurants that we wanted to go were fully packed! And we ended up having to eat at some kopitiam. *sigh*

So if you don’t want to experience the same thing, do make your reservations early! Such as celebrating it at Prince Hotel. :)

1. Eccucino

Especially designed for the Christmas occasion, Eccucino has organized a special X’mas Eve Buffet Dinner that includes roasted turkey, cranberry sauce and giblet gravy; Brussels sprouts; braised lamb shank; live action stations including risotto, beef stoganoff selection of salads, appetizers and Asian specialties; fresh iced oysters; prawns and mussels; cold slab ice cream; chocolate fountain; stollen; Yule log, gingerbread and many more.

X’mas Eve Buffet Dinner is priced at RM120++ per person inclusive of a glass of sparkling wine or sparkling juice.

The range of appetizers is vast, including lots of fresh seafood on ice, salad and plenty of sushi and sashimi!

They also have a selection of main dishes from Western cuisine as well as South East Asia cuisine. Char kuey teow is also in the list, if you must know. Another worthy mention would be the maple-glazed roasted pumpkin and apples, simply because I love pumpkin and the combination is all so Christmas-y.

Besides the ready-made food, there are also several action stations, including the famous Turkey carving station, the risotto station and the typical omelette station.

I tried a plate from the risotto station and the taste was really not bad, although I thought the rice was a little uncooked. Perhaps it was supposed to be that way? Al dente, risotto style. :)

Of course, it goes without saying that the Dessert station is the favourite among us girls!

My absolute favourite of the lot was the chocolate cake! Ahh, it’s simply decadent! The outer layer was rich but not over-powering, and the inner cake was moist and chocolatey. Most importantly, it was not overly sweet. Every bite was just pure joy.
