My FML experience
It was a working day as usual, and when the alarm rang, I lazily dragged myself out of the bed. I looked to the side, Saucer’s gone. Ah early shift today. After getting dressed, I looked for keys to get out for work. “Where ARE my keys?” I remember leaving them on the table yesterday night, just as every other night. Why were they not there now? Only then, did I start to panic. Don’t tell me, Saucer took my keys!
Called Saucer on the phone, *hurry up, pick up!*. “Hello”, I heard Saucer’s voice. “Dear, please don’t tell me you took my keys to work today?”. “What? Your keys? You can’t find them?” “No, they’re not on the table!” Saucer started to check his pockets… “Oh no, I have your keys, and my keys!” SH*T! How in the world was I going to get out of my house? Saucer’s work place is at least half an hour’s drive away, and judging from the morning rush hour traffic, I don’t know how long it would take. Plus, I was already late for work! *Panic*panic* I searched for spare keys, but I knew there was none. I remember us discussing this before, saying that we didn’t need spare keys, because we wouldn’t be able to leave the house without a key, and hence, we wouldn’t be locked out.
But my oh my, little did I know that we could be locked IN! Because someone else took the keys! Argh. Saucer had no choice but to come back, although he did suggest a pretty brilliant idea. He mentioned something about getting out through the trash compartment in the kitchen, but then he brushed it off, thinking that it was too ridiculous. Hold on! The trash compartment idea could work, I thought to myself.
I just needed someone to open the latch for me from the outside, and I could actually crawl my way out. The trash compartment has 2 doors, one accessible from the kitchen and the other from the corridor, for the cleaners to collect our trash. I could obviously open the door from my kitchen, but I needed someone to open it from the outside as well. While Saucer was walking to get to his car, I was waiting at my door, hoping for someone to pass by. Oh, there’s one guy from afar leaving his house. “Mister! MISTERRR!!!” Ahh he didn’t hear me. Darn!
Continued waiting and fidgeting. Wait, did I hear another sound of door locking? Someone next door! My hopes were up again! This time, the couple walked pass my unit, so I had no problem telling them my crisis and asking them to open the trash door for me. They promptly obliged, and the kind man told me, I needed to lock the trash door from the outside after I came out, so that other people couldn’t enter. I actually knew that, and was searching for a padlock inside the house for the past few minutes, but in vain. I took a shot and asked them, “Do you have any extra padlocks?” And surprisingly, the man said YES! I couldn’t believe my luck! He went back in to search for a padlock, while I got my stuffs ready to crawl out.
Luckily there was no trash in the compartment, and I was able to fit through the hole. Called Saucer to inform him, turned out that he didn’t have to come back after all. Thanks to our good old neighbours. I still can’t believe I had to crawl through the trash compartment to get out of my house that day. *FML*

Yea I stay in condo… There’s a trash compartment where you can place your trash there from the kitchen, and there’ll be another door to collect it from the outside corridor.
hmmm? u can crawl out? does that means ppl can crawl in also?
.-= Jys´s last blog ..Card cancelled and at the same time, annual fees charged!! =-.
Yea, well people can only crawl in if I didn’t lock the door from inside. You see there are 2 doors, and both need to be unlocked for one to access through.
Hey that’s a good lesson learned but a little bizarre. With such situation we really need to improvise and think sharp, we’ll never know when we’ll get into sticky situations. Glad things turned out ok for you.

Haha! You have to climb out through the trash compartment to get out? That’s both NEW and NEWS to me! LOL! Lucky your neighbour has an extra padlock! : )
Yes that was not a very nice experience.
You changed your template? Why? I think I like the old one, but that’s just my opinion of course : )
Hmm some people commented that my old design is DULL! I guess I’m trying out something more basic.
Good idea, thanks for posting
