I survived Chin Swee Temple
Remember about a week or so ago, there was a landslide occurring in Genting? I was just there the week before! What a close shave. I went to Genting again this time, just because we had enough points to convert into a free hotel room. The weather was fabulous! It was cold and windy and very misty. It gave me the overseas feeling just one hour drive from KL. This was me standing next to the height measurement, indicating that I was taller than 153cm!
But of course, I should measure while standing on top of the platform as opposed to standing below it.

At night, it got even better. The was so strong and cold that I couldn’t help but to wear a jacket to keep myself warm. Of course, someone’s arms provided warmth too!

The next morning, the mist was the worst! Visibility was reduced to less than 10 meters. It was really cool. I’d never experienced standing so close to someone and not being able to see him because of the fog. *LOL*

When we descended from Genting at about 12pm, the road was so foggy we couldn’t see anything in front.

Foggy road ahead
Due to safety reasons, we decided to stop by at the Chin Swee Temple until the fog cleared up.

It was my first time there anyway. My first destination was to go up the 9-storey pagoda. Just to prove that I was there, here is the snapshot that I took at the 9th level!

The fog was so thick that I couldn’t capture a proper picture of the pagoda at that time.

Level 9 of Pagoda
After the pagoda, we went to the Main Praying Hall, which was some levels below. The hall was so huge! The people looked minute inside.

Chin Swee Temple was really nicely maintained and developed. There were lots of pretty figurines and decorations around the temple you almost feel serene walking there.

Nine dragons
We also saw the late Dr Lim Goh Tong’s memorial statue, standing tall just near the Goh Tong hall.

Some pictures taken around the temple area:

Inside the Goh Tong hall, I saw the sign saying something like Observation Tower (if I’m not mistaken) so I went up the staircase, and ended up here.

Look at the view that I could see from my position. It was awesome, and scary, somehow. Not for the phobics. *LOL*

There were also the amazing Buddha and Goddess of Mercy at the temple.

The view at the temple surroundings was just breath-taking.

I took the picture below because Saucer was saying that a friend of ours told him a story before, about how when a spirit entered the exorcist’s body, his tongue came out and it was long!

After an hour or so later, the fog began to clear up and I managed to get a better picture of the pagoda.

There were also cute statues of the characters from Journey to the West story.

I never knew there were so many things to see in the Chin Swee Temple! And it connects to the Goh Tong hall as well. Interesting. This is a good place to go if you have time to spare before descending Genting Highlands, or if you face with thick fog like me.

Eh I think it’s 7 angels (Chat sin lui), instead of the Pat sin go hoi.
Erm I didn’t really notice my lens getting fogged up on that day… Now that you mention it, I shall pay more attention whenever I leave my camera in the aircon room.
