German Cuisine in Stadt
I passed by this restaurant several times in Bandar Puteri Puchong, and found it to be always busy and full of patrons. One Sunday night, Saucer and I decided to pay this restaurant a visit. Indeed, the tables were almost full, and we were lucky to have found one small table for 2 at the back. No matter, we started perusing the menu, which was just 1 piece of cardboard and very straightforward.

Service there was chaotic to say the least. It took me 5 minutes just to get a waiter’s attention. They always seemed to be looking elsewhere, being too engrossed with their work, or just trying to avoid you, perhaps. And when they’re finally next to you, they gave you this very anxious and impatient look, which didn’t serve me well, of course. Anyway, I ordered 2 main courses for dinner. Luckily, we didn’t have to wait too long, perhaps 15 minutes, before dinner was served.
Saucer’s order was the Rib-eye Steak (RM23.90). On first look, my impression was the portion was relatively small. I used ‘relatively’ because I compared it to the other German restaurants that I have visited back in Penang. It is without a doubt that any German restaurants serve huge portions, but the portion here was just normal, fit for Asians. I don’t think a German would feel full after eating this steak.

The steak was requested to be done medium well, but there were still traces of blood in the middle. The outer part plus the gravy was pretty good though. As for the salad side, it was mediocre at best. The vegetables were measly and they didn’t seem very fresh. Even the fries were already cold and soggy.
My order of Spare Ribs with Honey Glazed (RM22.90) was slightly better. At least, it didn’t have soggy fries, but mashed potatoes instead. The side vegetables were still the same, miserable. But the ribs were pretty good. Juicy inside and slightly crispy on the outside. I could also taste a hint of honey in the midst of the gravy. Quite recommended, if you ever end up in this restaurant.

At the end of the meal, when Saucer asked for the bill, he was again ignored. I must say, the service here was really poor. Perhaps they were not trained to cope with a busy night? I was pretty disappointed with the dinner, and perhaps the only saviour was the company that I had.

Thanks for blogging about this restaurant. I will avoid it! I also dislike waiters who purposely do not notice you in the hope that other waiters would go to you.
But if so lousy, how come so many customers? Looks like you don’t need to have good food and good service to get customers! Like that, I also want to start a restaurant! Haha!
I really think the customers should increase their standard lah : )

LOL at your comment. I have no idea why there are so many customers, maybe German restaurants are scarce in Puchong? Hmm… If you start one, I’m sure your customer service would be much better!

I been there once before, just once and didn’t go back.
Did you try their German Beer? That is quite good and they are seeling at cheaper price.
No, didn’t try their beer though. Well maybe THAT’s the reason people keep flocking the place. LOL
