Thieves are getting bolder
I’m not sure if this happened because of the Hungry Ghost Month, or the safety in our country is really jeopardized lately. For the past few weeks, I have heard of countless of incidents of lost cars, thefts, broken car window and so on. My colleague parked her car just outside of her apartment and it was stolen the next day. The other day when I was driving to work, I saw a car with a piece of plastic bag plastered on the car window because the window was smashed.
And coming closer to home, the other day, my mom forwarded an email to me, written by her sister (a.k.a. my aunt):
Dear Sis,
… My Naza Ria was stolen last Sunday, 30 August at around 9.15am. We went for morning walk and parked the car by the side of a main road (just opposite the Mosque, at the Taman Tasik Manjalara) at around 8.30am. My husband still saw the car after 2 rounds around the lake and by the time we finished our walk, the car was gone. Unfortunately my handphone and 2 of my youngest sons’ IC were there as well. While making our police report, there was a couple reporting there as well. Apparently at around 8.00 – 8.30am at the Maluri market area, a group of chinese guys were attempting to steal a toyota camry right under the eyes of the public. They were there and were given a warning “Nothing to do with you, don’t be a busy body” and smashed the car windscreen while shielding their parangs! Another car, a land cruiser, was also stolen that morning. My god, don’t know what type of society we are living in now. Got to be extra careful now wherever we go.
What has our country become? Have we no sense of compassion? No sense of guilt? Anyone on the street can just steal a car and run away freely? It shudders me thinking of what else worse that could happen in 2 years’ time? 5 years? Or 10 years? *sigh*

Yea you be careful too babe!
That’s why better not drive expensive car! And never leave anything valuable inside car in full view of potential thiefs!
In my area, there’s a family who was robbed of their car in their house, and then the robber called them later to sell the car back to them! Believe it or not!

OMG! That’s crazy! They’re getting more and more out of hand man. *sigh*
We have a security patrol system in our neighbourhood. it doesn’t stop thieves/robbers etc but it sure is a deterrent. How things have changed! We have to be so careful even walking on the streets , let alone thinking of our handbags etc.
